It was eight years ago today (August 5, 2002) that the legendary late, great play-by-play announcer of the Los Angeles Lakers, Chick Hearn, passed away.

The family went out to dinner last night. Had to do a double take when Mr. Man did not order his staple of pizza and soda. Out of nowhere, he ordered, and enjoyed, chicken piccata and water. He explained how the water was excellent for cutting the saltiness of the capers. Is this a product of watching too much Top Chef? Or is it more related to his nearing teenagedness?
